Ken Gargett
The wine spent fourteen months maturing in new French oak. A crimson/maroon hue, the nose gives us dark berries, leather, cold tea, mulberries, and aniseed. This is a quality Cabernet, and fabulous value. The wine is quite classically varietal, with excellent balance and intensity maintained throughout. Exhibiting terrific focus supported by very fine tannins, this is a cracking drink now but will be better in two to three years and then drink well for a further decade. Points: 94/100
