Tasting Notes

Aroma

Savoury and earthy with bright red cherries, raspberries, and a hint of cinnamon spice.

Appearance

Light garnet in colour.

Palate

The juicy palate flows through to a fruit-driven core of crunchy red currants, dried cranberries, black olive, and suggestions of toasted coconut. A pinot noir with round tannins, good balance, and finesse.

Vinification

Sourced from the Southern Valleys, this pinot noir went through fermentation in open-top fermenters, with 20% whole bunch and was hand plunged. This brought out the perfumed berry fruit as well as increased the silky mouthfeel of the wine. Aged with French oak.

Sourced from a single vineyard in the Ormond sub region. Golden apples, yellow grapefruit and slices of star fruit. A lemon balm citrus with jasmine and honeysuckle blossom. Honeycomb wax and a nougatine confection. Fruit is front and centre with lingering acidity and just a touch of cold butter and labneh creaminess. A small portion of malo sits just right. Expect this wine to slip down a little too easily. Drink with a chilled shellfish platter and lots of lemon for squeezing over. Points: 90/100

It's delightfully fruited and elegantly expressed on the nose with ripe apricot, rockmelon, nougat and roasted cashew aromas, leading to a beautifully rounded palate offering succulent fruit flavours with creamy texture and well-pitched acidity. Supple and soothing, offering friendly drinking. At its best: now to 2026. Points: 90/100
