It’s fascinating going through these Chatto releases. They’re all peas in a pod, and yet they all have slight differences. Seven Inch is like Chatto’s Bird release in that the emphasis is just in favour of structure; Killara Farm goes fruit/flavour and then structure. Here we have an elegant wine of muscle and flex, its spice notes tending towards mescal, its smoke notes lending a certain meatiness. The long lines of tannin here, the tripod-leg extension of the finish, and the way each flavour feels selected and arranged has this wine heading straight into elite territory. 94+ Points: 94/100
