24 months.

Palate

This wine owns a very pronounced floral character, all white flowers. An aftertaste of candied fruits follows the nose.

Vinification

After a long pressing and static settling of 12 hours, the fermentation was effected at a temperature of 20C during approximatively 10 days.

Cellaring Potential

Estimated peak for tasting in 2023.

Vintage Notes

A very healthy vintage that arrived at maturity by mid-september. This vintage, caracterised by a relatively mild and humid winter followed by a hot and dry spring and summer, is very balanced.

Seductive nose of jackfruit, dragon fruit, ginseng, tangerines and almond skins. Subtle tannins here, wrapping up exotic and citrus fruit with a delicious spiciness, too. Savory at the end. Fine wine density and phenolics. 60% sauvignon blanc and 40% semillon from the Cullen vineyard, with short skin contact in the fermentation. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink now or hold. Screw cap. Points: 93/100

Scents of bees wax and dried, mixed citrus peel, a bit of anise and mandarin freshness too. Flavours more mandarin-orientated, bergamot tea and ginger to taste. Firm tannins rippling with chalky authority through the wine, bringing the sizzling acidity to heel and finishing the wine with chew, way long. It’s a serious orange wine, of pedigree, and deliciousness. The tasting pal today says ‘sit me down to a bottle of that and a roast chook and away we go’. Now to find a chook. Points: 94/100
