HEAD Wines HEAD Red Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

I’ve been banging away at Cabernet for a good 10 years now and never felt the desire to bottle one. It can be a wonderful blending tool in the Barossa. As time passed and my ‘Vineyard Monopoly’ game improved I felt it was time to put a cabernet blend together for bottling. In 2022 I started working with a 1950 planted vineyard on the white wind-blown sands of Ebenezer. There was a wonderful history of wine coming from the vineyard and I knew given time we can create something wonderful. We also procured access to very small, ½ tonne parcels of old vine merlot, cabernet franc, malbec and petit verdot to use as blending partners. In time we hope to produce one of the great cabernets of the Barossa.
