Campbell Mattinson
There’s a lot of tannin here and it’s well integrated too. The’s pure plum flavour, and peppercorns, and juicy cherries, and slips of licorice, both red and black. This isn’t a particularly ‘big’ wine – a good thing of course – and it leans into both its juiciness and its savouriness. It’s the tannin though – grapey, almost squeaky – that makes you just want to grab the bottle and head off to dinner.
