Tasting Notes

Aroma

An aromatic citrus bouquet, with a subtle hint of spice.

Appearance

Pale yellow with a light greenish tinge.

Palate

Soft, ripe orchard fruits, grippy texture and a fresh, mineral finish. Well balanced structure with good length.

Vinification

Hand harvested in early March and delivered back to the winery where it was destemmed and gently pressed. The wine was fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel before four months of maturation on yeast lees prior to bottling.

Winemakers Comments

The Regional Selection range represents vineyard & varietal combinations which are recognised for excellence, as well as emerging varietals which are eminently suited to each region. The motivation is quality, and the result is a range of wines which are hand-made from specific vineyards to bring you the best of each growing region.

Region Notes

Noted for its small yields and intense aromatic profile, Fiano has recently found considerable success on Australian soils. This single vineyard is well established and suited to the region. The vines are vigorous with a great canopy, helping them withstand the heat and dry summer conditions. Fiano is an exciting variety for Clare Valley, showing all the quality hallmarks that the wine is known for

Clare Valley fiano, pale with green flashes, and sporting characters of crisp nashi pear, grapefruit and green apple fruits along with hints of crushed stone, pine nuts, almond blossom, marzipan and apple sorbet. Crisp, dry and febrile with just a touch of textural tug, a saline acid driveline and a lipsmacking appley finish. Points: 91/100
