Mid-gold. Complex, closed nose. Layers of cinnamon, subtle spice with a sweet ripe apple heart. Powerful, reserved and dense. Layered, savoury and reticent, there is a great promise here but it is currently ungiving. The full-bodied yet elegant palate is impressively concentrated, long and with coiled, innate power which expands slowly on the finish. The ripe apricote, tangelo and pineapple flavours carry themselves wit han ease and confidence which speaks of sunshine. The finish is a tad clipped with wood tannins presently, but it nonetheless a classy and masterful wine with a long life ahead of it, if ou are prepared to wait for it to unfurl. Points: 95/100

This has a softness and easy appeal. Sweet citrus meets red apple joins nougat, ginger lemon honey tea and cashew. Lots of fragrance, good, juicy and slick texture with a pleasing, talc-like mineral finish and great extension of flavour. Sits softly in the palate, a richer, but not too rich feel to the wine, with generosity of everything a byword in this description. It feels super pleasing and full of character. Nice one. Points: 94/100

Mellow, silken-texture chardonnay with lemon curd, grapefruit /citrus, lemon zest, wet river stone, lanolin and subtle spicy oak flavours. Multi-layered wine with an appealing texture and underlying power. Has cellaring potential but can certainly be appreciated in its youth. Points: 95/100
