Tasting Notes

Aroma

Elegance and velvety, with ripe and spicy fruit.

Maturation

In big French and Slavonian oak botti for at least 2 years; for a small amount in barriques as well.

Palate

Strong tannins, but elegant. Good structure and concentration.

Vinification

The Nebbiolo grapes sourced from multiple vineyards are blended before the fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Long skin contact maceration for 30 days at high temperatures.

Barolo Pio should not be considered as a regular Barolo! Our multicru interpretation represents the classic formula used by the ancient Barolo families to produce a wine which embraces and combines each of the unique characteristics of the different terroirs of the appellation as a whole.

    #21 Underbrush, hazelnut and new leather aromas come to the forefront along with a whiff of eucalyptus. Linear and already accessible, the palate offers toasted nut, dried cherry and licorice before a coffee close. Polished, refined tannins provide support. Drink through 2028. Points: 91/100
