Shadowfax Straws Lane Pinot Noir 2022

There’s a coolness to the ’22 pinots; here, also a touch of Coolmint and lots of fresh herb aromas mingling with beetroot and poached rhubarb. The palate is leanish and tight, with tannins in the background and perky acidity upfront. It’s definitely a wine to have with food and will be all the better for it. Points: 92/100

Mid-light red with a glint of purple; smoky cherry and redcurrant aromas, hint of fivespice, the palate is lean and a trifle pinched, with a touch of beetroot and slightly tart cool-grown acidity. Good wine, even better with the right kind of food. (Vineyard altitude 800m). Points: 92/100
