Made with sangiovese, shiraz, tempranillo and montepulciano. This is a juicy, well-flavoured red with 'general appeal' written all over it. It tastes sweet and berried, there's a creamy vanillin overlay, and there's just enough clove-like/savoury inputs to prevent it from seeming one-dimensional. The price is right, too. Points: 91/100

Deep ruby core with a rich purple rim. Cherry preserve, wood oil and dried rosemary aromatics. Dark fruits fill the palate, well bound by gravelly tannins that offer drive and accentuate dark mineral and meaty savoury characters. Good length and persistence. Will work best with food. Points: 90/100

A blend of Sangiovese, Tempranillo and Shiraz, so supple and appealing is the delivery that you just want to dive in. Dark red fruits with some Cherry Ripe appeal fold into five spice and some earthiness. Black pepper comes late but the mulberries and baked blueberries that drench the mid-palate are the highlight. Packed with interest, this is bloody good drinking. Bang the bargain drum hard! Points: 93/100

The red blend is Sangiovese and Tempranillo with a small amount of Montepulciano. The slightly cherry and sarsaparilla characters of Sangiovese emerge first from the nose. On the palate other characters of savoury raspberry and sage bush arise creating a wine of complexity and generosity. The oak has been well managed to support and balance while the tannins are quite supple. Points: 92/100
