Tasting Notes

Aroma

Spice and violets enhance aromas of cherry-cola and raspberry.

Palate

Dry, complex and layered this wine is multi-faceted with cherry and cran-berry fruit, leather and mineral notes, light tannin, and a long complex finish.

Vinification

All fruit was sourced from our Macclesfield vineyard in the southern Adelaide Hills and was fermented in open-top fermenters for 7 days, allowing maximum extraction of colour and flavour. Partial whole berry fermentation on the Piccolo clone allows for greater complexity. The wine was matured in old American barriques for 12 months prior to bottling.

Cellaring Potential

This wine is enjoyable now, but has the structure to flower into a classic over the next 4 to 6 years.

This has a vibrant, red-fruit nose with some earthy and spicy complexity, too. The palate has a lithe, lively feel with bright red-fruit flavors holding fresh. Drink now. Points: 90/100
