Native to New Zealand, the Totara tree has long been revered by both Maori and early european settlers for its remarkable qualities and diversity of uses. Equally diverse are their vineyards – from the stony alluvial soils of Marlborough’s Wairau plains to the heavier, clay based soils of the Waihopai Valley. A diversity that enables Totara to capture the very best that Marlborough has to offer. Carefully selected parcels of sustainably grown fruit each contribute their own unique qualities, allowing Totara to produce wines that are a true reflection of their terroir.
