A few extra years in bottle has only improved this elite Grenache. Its vivacious freshness and lean, muscular fruit power are now beautifully balanced through the long, complex palate, where heady wafts of wild herbs are framed by fresh plum and wild raspberry. Matured for 11 months in older large French oak foudres and ceramic eggs. Biodynamic. Points: 97/100

Wild fermented. Open tops. Extracted dutifully across a 21 day window. Foudre and eggs for 11 months thereafter. This is powerful wine reigned in by sumptuous tannins, like matrix dots doused with spice and teeming across the mind's eye. More southern Rhone than Gredos, often the inspiration in these parts. Moroccan souk. Goa trail blazing. Darker, danker fruits, clove and assertive tannins ... those gorgeous tannins, pulling the wine to prodigious length. Wow! Drink or hold. Screw cap. Points: 97/100

From the 1.7ha Block 31, the highest section of the 1946 bush vines. 50% whole berries, wild yeast open-fermented; matured in a foudre and ceramic eggs for 11 months. Truly great wines add something new on each taste; here, there's an ethereal, otherworldly purity to the lingering finish and aftertaste. Points: 99/100

Perfume, spiced biscuit, strawberry and raspberry, almond meal, a little menthol. Medium-bodied, beautiful structure here, so fine-boned with graphite tannin, almond and raspberry, and don’t mind me, but maybe a little venison and juniper berry thing happening, which adds a layer of complexity, and a fresh red fruited finish that goes very long. And the tannin that closes it out is really something. Superb. Points: 96/100

Medium-depth colour with a reserved nose, a mite restrained at this stage, with aromas of plum pits and skins, background spices, the same in the mouth, where it has good depth of intense and compact flavour but seems a tad latent. This is puzzling: it almost certainly needs more time, but it's hard to see the value at this moment. An elegant style of grenache for sure, and less exuberant than some earlier vintages. Points: 95/100

This has such precision with aromas of blackberries, cloves, raspberries, black tea, rooibos, dried rosemary and iron shavings. Dark and mineral with a medium body and a firm, very fine and tight tannin frame. Fantastic tension and freshness. From biodynamically grown grapes. Better from 2024. Screw cap. Points: 97/100
