James Suckling
This has a great balance between oxidation and freshness, with all the complexity of fine champagne. The tightly wound, nervy palate has a generous underlying power, showing notes of lemon confit, ocean spray, ginger, flint, oyster shells and soft pastry. 2016 base, disgorged August 2024 after 60 months on the lees. Drink or hold. Points: 96/100
