Domaine Alzipratu, close to Calvi, north-west Corsica, has been in the Aquaviva family since 1968, with third generation Marc Andria joining his father Pierre in 2018. The forty-hectare vineyard consists of several south-facing parcels, with one section lying close to Zilia, and the second west of the village of Calenzana, in the upper Figarella valley. Domaine Alzipratu is farmed sustainably and planted to traditional Corsican varieties: vermentinu for the whites and sciaccarelli, niellucciu (sangiovese), syrah and elegant (grenache) for the reds. The vineyards lie in the foothills of Monte Grossu yet close to the sea, resulting in vibrant, elegant and minerally wines.
