Giovanni Rosso’s family began growing grapes in Serralunga d’Alba in the 1890’s, and Giovanni restructured the vineyards to improve quality in the 1980’s. Son Davide’s mantra today remains “wine should be a perfect copy of its terroir”. In 2010 Davide inherited prized vineyard Vigna Rionda and releases two wines named in honour of his mother Ester Canale: old-vine Barolo and young-vine nebbiolo. In 2016, Davide purchased a vineyard at 750 m.a.s.l. on Mt Etna, Sicily.
