Tasting Notes

Aroma

Fruity aromas of sweet pear.

Palate

Sweet texture balanced with a fresh acidity.

Vinification

De-stemmed and crushed into press. De-juiced with only slight pressure prior to cold-settling overnight. Racked into a stainless steel tank for inoculated ferment, controlled at 18-20Cc Kept on ferment lees for eight weeks to fill palate structure, then cold stabilised before filtration.

Vintage Notes

Spring time 2018 was mild and dry with some cooler temperature in Novem ber. Flowering began in mid November and was finished by early December. All throughout summer the weather was constantly warm and dry with no rain. Grape picking started at the end of February for the sparkling and was completed by the 20th of April 2019.

Region Notes

The highly acclaimed Frogmore Creek wines are from the genuine cool-climate of southern Tasmania, where our grapes benefit from a long growing season amongst our pristine natural environment. These slowly-ripened grapes devel op pure fruit flavours, fresh natural acidity and are perfect for making world class cool-climate wines.

This expressive red shows energy backing its cherry, raspberry, earth, sanguine and tobacco flavors. Beefy tannins put a lock on the finish, yet this is long and the ripe fruit is the lasting impression. Best from 2025 through 2045. Points: 95/100

This holds a floral, violet-like layer on the nose with attractive blueberry and cassis fruit aromas as well as fresh-picked wild herbs, cedar, tobacco and sweet red cherry. A succulent palate with grainy tannin gripping smoothly in fine layers. Impressive structural detail and the acidity elevates this through the finish. Drink over the next decade. Points: 96/100

Liquorice and star anise, red fruits, a dried flower perfume, and subtle earthiness. Medium to full-bodied, juicy ripe red fruits and marzipan, a light chewy feel to tannin, slightly baked character but still retains freshness, with fine chalky tannin running on a sweet spiced poached strawberry finish. Speaks of Cerretta and warmer vintage, yet retains its class. Excellent. Points: 95/100
