Fred Loimer returned to his family’s estate in the 1990’s, and in 2006 began practicing biodynamics. Fred is a founding member of respekt-BIODYN, a certifying body of like-minded biodynamic producers in Austria, Germany, Italy and Hungary. Grüner Veltliner and Riesling make up three quarters of Loimer’s vineyards in the Kamptal, farmed organically and biodynamically. Fred believes ‘Diversity is our Emotional Capital’ and his experiments with different varieties and traditional techniques with a contemporary interpretation, has led to the creation of gluegglich, a non-vintage, complex white blend, made using a solera-type system which is added to and taken from each year.
