This excellent vintage has delivered a compelling pinot noir with plenty of colour (a bright ruby), plus loads of flavour. Perfumed with florals and a whiff of Chinese five-spice as flavours unfurl offering cherries and pips, charred radicchio with a dash of woodsy spices and dried mint. The palate stays barely in mid-weight territory with a juiciness and tang throughout led by natural acidity and fine, sandy tannins yet finishes a tad short. A minor quibble. Points: 93/100
