Tasting Notes

Aroma

Aromas of red fruits - strawberry, raspberry, red currant, coupled with a floral and spicy note.

Appearance

A bright crimson.

Palate

The palate has layers of fine grained and silky tannins. It is intense and full, with layers of flavour and texture leading to a long, lingering finish.

Vinification

The fruit was handpicked between 20th February – 4th March, with each parcel handled separately in the winery. Hand sorted and carefully de-stemmed, the whole berries were then transferred to oak fermentation vats for natural fermentation. A small portion (10%) of whole bunches were used in 2024. Once fermentation was complete, the wines were transferred to French 500L oak barrels for maturation, 20% of which were new. The wines were left undisturbed until estate bottling in late January 2025.

Cellaring Potential

Cellar for at least five years, and preferably more than 10.

Vintage Notes

The 2024 season brought ‘La Niña’ weather conditions for the fourth year in a row – a fine and early ripening vintage, with low yields and superb quality.

Winemakers Comments

Our philosophy is to craft single vineyard wines of great purity and character, reflective of our site and the season in which it was grown. It’s the attention and care in the vineyard that is most critical to allowing this expression.

Deep-ish colour and a wonderful bouquet of dark cherry and more earthy, meaty, undergrowth notes. Rich and fleshy, fruit-sweet at the core and nicely concentrated with silken tannins that are perfectly harmonised. Excellent pinot noir now and for years to come. Points: 95/100

Excellent pinot noir. This is a wine of controlled power, its cherry-plum flavours served both fresh and substantial, its spice notes splashed liberally, its smoke and cedar characters presented at their seductive best. Tannin curls with well-crafted authority, and the finish is prosecuted in full. No room for doubt here. Points: 95/100

Perfumed aromas of blackberries, cocoa, dried rose petals, herbs, blueberry bush, dark cherries and spices. The palate is medium-bodied with refined tannins and bright acidity that bring a juicy, fresh nature to the already expressive palate. Polished and pure, with a seamless finish and some Old-World charm. Drink or hold. Screw cap. Points: 95/100

Quite a hedonistic offering with gorgeous cherry fruit that comes all spiced up and matched to supple, fine tannins and driving acidity. It starts with heady aromatics, rhubarb compote and nutty, woodsy, charry oak while a flood of sweet fruit flows across the fuller-bodied palate. Highly enjoyable in this youthful stage but will garner more complexity in time. Points: 95/100
