This is a wine of controlled power, its cherry-plum flavours served both fresh and substantial, its spice notes splashed liberally, its smoke and cedar characters presented at their seductive best. Tannin curls with well-crafted authority, and the finish is prosecuted in full. No room for doubt here. Points: 95/100

Quite a hedonistic offering with gorgeous cherry fruit that comes all spiced up and matched to supple, fine tannins and driving acidity. It starts with heady aromatics, rhubarb compote and nutty, woodsy, charry oak while a flood of sweet fruit flows across the fuller-bodied palate. Highly enjoyable in this youthful stage but will garner more complexity in time. Points: 95/100
