Aphelion is family-owned, and was awarded Best Small Producer in the 2019 McLaren Vale Wine Show. Winemaker Rob Mack is currently studying for the Master of Wine title. He is a Len Evans Tutorial Scholar and a frequent judge on the national wine show circuit, plus 2018 Young Gun of Wine winner. Aphelion means ‘from the sun’ and this concept is central to their winemaking philosophy - to focus on site above all else. They craft wines that suit the Australian climate and terroir, such as light to medium-bodied reds and crisp whites. Grenache is a specialty, with six wines across three tiers of the variety in the range. A James Halliday 5 Star Rated Winery.
