In 2004 Alberto Graci left a successful finance career in Milano for his native Sicily, planting vines in Contrada Arcurìa on the north face of Mt Etna. Graci is one of just 3 wineries to own 100+ year-old bush vines in Barbabecchi, above 1000 m.a.s.l., along with vineyards in Feudo di Mezzo, Muganazzi and Santo Spirito close to the winery. Alberto farms (organically) nerello mascalese for reds and rosato, cataratto and carricante for whites. In their magnificently restored winery, Alberto wild ferments in open-top wooden fermenters and cement tanks, to create pure, elegant wines reflecting each Etna Contrada’s minerality.
