Tasting Notes

Aroma

The Chardonnay has orchard stone fruit, grapefruit, citrus blossom, a hint of roasted almond and a lovely flinty note underlying.

Palate

The palate is youthful and intensely concentrated, there is a nice layer of almond meal and cashew nut from the barrel fermentation rounding out the fruit. There are layers of deeply textured and concentrated fruit. White stone fruit and pithy grapefruit weave through a tightly wound and piercingly intense, mineral finish that goes on and on.

Vinification

Handpicked between 22–28th February and whole bunch pressed. The juice was transferred to 500 litre French oak barrels for natural fermentation. A 20% portion of which were new. The wines were aged on lees in oak for a further 10 months, prior to estate bottling in late January 2026. 70% Mendoza, 30% P58.

Cellaring Potential

Cellar for at least five years, the wine will go well past 10 years.

Vintage Notes

The 2025 season saw a welcomed return of warm and extended summer conditions, producing full flavoured wines with impeccable intensity and balance.

    Very light colour; a waft of smoky reduction is the first aroma, with creamy, smoked charcuterie, and custard aromas, the palate equally taut and unevolved, with balanced oak and acidity, the finish very drying Intense and compact, dry and quite in its shell at the present moment. Oak is nicely underplayed. Needs more time and has lots of potential.  Points: 92/100

    While there’s no shortage of fine, mouth-watering acidity pulsing throughout, it’s surprisingly open and flavoursome. And everything is in place so this is balanced. Citrus and white stone fruit, creamy lees, nougatine and some spicy oak unfurl across the finely tuned palate. Refreshing, enjoyable now and will garner more complexity with time. Points: 95/100
