Tasting Notes

Aroma

Aromas of red fruits - strawberry, raspberry, red currant, coupled with a floral and spicy note.

Appearance

A bright crimson.

Palate

The palate has layers of fine grained and silky tannins. It is intense and full, with layers of flavour and texture leading to a long, lingering finish.

Vinification

The fruit was handpicked between 20th February – 4th March, with each parcel handled separately in the winery. Hand sorted and carefully de-stemmed, the whole berries were then transferred to oak fermentation vats for natural fermentation. A small portion (10%) of whole bunches were used in 2025. Once fermentation was complete, the wines were transferred to French 500L oak barrels for maturation, 20% of which were new. The wines were left undisturbed until estate bottling in late January 2026.

Cellaring Potential

Cellar for at least five years, and preferably more than 10.

Vintage Notes

The 2025 season saw a welcomed return of warm and extended summer conditions, producing full flavoured wines with impeccable intensity and balance.

Winemakers Comments

Our philosophy is to craft single vineyard wines of great purity and character, reflective of our site and the season in which it was grown. It’s the attention and care in the vineyard that is most critical to allowing this expression.

Tasted soon after bottling, although it’s headed to market quickly, but more time in bottle will help to build depth. Don’t get me wrong, it’s very good. I like it a lot, thanks to its wave of richness – an amalgam of dark cherries, charcuterie, woodsy spices, some blood orange and a whiff of autumn. It's fuller bodied, with more sweet fruit caressing across the palate and meeting up with plush, supple tannins. Refreshing acidity to close. Points: 96/100
