Domaines Schlumberger was established in Guebwiller, southern Alsace, in 1810 by Nicolas Schlumberger, with the creation of a textile factory and purchase of 20 hectares of prime vineyard. Three generations later, Ernest Schlumberger saved the historic vineyards ravaged by phylloxera, and purchased several new parcels for replanting. Today 7th generation siblings, Thomas and Severine Schulmberger, farm these 140 hectares of vineyards, 50% of which are Grands Crus (Saering, Kessler, Kitterlé and Spiegel), following biodynamic principles.
